Martin, Mich. – In what began as a rescheduled event for inclement weather, the Amalie Oil InstiGator Funny Car powered by TORCO Racing Fuels, stormed back at the US 131 Motorsports Park’s, National City Thunder Nationals to make a final round appearance. Terry McMillen, pilot of the Amalie sponsored hotrod found plenty to smile about after the event.
“This is always a spectacular event,” commented McMillen. “The fans at the fastest track Michigan always show up in record numbers, this event was no different.”
McMillen had his hands full going into the final round as his “roots” blower car was set to face the “screw” blower car of Mike Snyder. “The screw blowers have an advantage, hands down,” said McMillen. “They’re normally one tenth or more faster with that blower set up. We knew our only chance to beat that car would have taken a mistake on their part.”
Terry McMillen and his Amalie Oil InstiGator make their next stop at the third event of the eMax Drag Racing Series, the MOPAR Canadian Nationals contested June 2-4th at the Grand Bend Motorplex. The event also features the first eMax Concert Series event featuring Canadian signing and songwriting sensations Blue Rodeo and Johnny Reid.
