KENT, Wash. – The AMALIE® Motor Oil INSTIGATOR Top Fuel team, driven by Terry McMillen found what they were looking for in Seattle – consistency. An opening round win against Dave Connolly was the reward for the team’s efforts.
“I think this is the race we’ll point to and say this is where we turned the corner,” McMillen said. “Rob (Wendland, crew chief) is doing a great job dialing the car and crew in.”
McMillen made runs on Saturday of 3.85 and 3.84 and a 3.89 in a second round Sunday loss to J.R. Todd.
“The crew gave Rob the same motor all weekend,” McMillen said. “We ran the same motor and two sets of heads all weekend. It’s been awhile since we’ve been able to say that. That’s a testament to our crew and how much improvement we’re seeing.”
