Martin, Mich. – Speeds along the Michigan interstates just got a little faster. Legally? Probably not. But, that hasn’t stopped Jason and Stephanie Peterson, owners of the US 131 Motorsports Park in Martin, from featuring the Amalie Oil InstiGator, powered by TORCO Racing Fuels, on billboards in preparation for the May 13th National City Thunder Nationals, presented by Pepsi.
“I’m driving around Michigan last week,” said Terry McMillen, driver and owner of the InstiGator, “and all of a sudden I see this larger than life Funny Car and then I realize it’s the InstiGator! It’s certainly made me look twice. Jason and Stephanie do an outstanding job at that track. I may be a little biased, since it’s our home track, but it’s real hard to argue about the success they have had, especially when it comes to events like the National City Thunder Nationals.”
McMillen will also take place in several radio interviews this week, including an interview on the flagship station for “The Bob and Tom Show” in South Bend, Indiana, 103.9 “The Bear”, Tommy Carrol will host the 12:30PM EST, May 10th. The Michigan Racing Scene is covered in Lansing, Michigan on 730 AM, Tony and Terry will talk with McMillen about the upcoming race at US 131, Wednesday, May 10th at 6:30PM.
The National City Thunder Nationals feature Pro Mods, Alcohol Dragsters, Alcohol Funny Cars, the Bar’s Leaks Supercharged Thunder and even the Nitro methane burning Nostalgia Top Fuel Dragster, plus, two 300 mph Jet Dragsters and the World’s Quickest Wheelstander. “This is one of the best events that we do all year,” McMillen added. “US 131 will be packed with fans and they’ll see some of the best racing crammed into a one day event. It’s non stop action!”
