ATLANTA – Terry McMillen and his Amalie Oil / Wolverine Boots and Apparel Top Fuel Dragster will make their fourth career NHRA start at this weekend’s Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Southern Nationals. McMillen and his Elkhart Indiana based team is still is search of its first round win.
“I’ve got to be honest,” McMillen said as he and his team set up their pit area for the race. “We’ve been disappointed with our performance so far this season. It’s not that we’ve been that bad – it just hasn’t been that good. We expect more from ourselves.”
“We qualified well in Gainesville, but we just didn’t perform as well as we know we can,” McMillen added. “Doug Kuch (crew-chief) and my crew guys spent a lot of sleepless nights down at the race shop. We’re committed to making this team into one that our opponents dread pulling up next to on Sunday. But before we can do that we have to qualify a little better and win a few rounds. Once we can do that consistently, then we can move to our next goal – winning a race.”
Professional qualifying for the event begins Friday. For more ticket information about the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Southern Nationals, call 800-884-6472, or purchase tickets online at nhra.com or ticketmaster.com.
