For the second season in a row, Terry McMillen and the Hoosier Thunder Motorsports team have donated a weekend racing trip to the Comp2Kids organization.
For the second year in a row Greg Tusar of Goldman Sachs has been the winning bidder. Greg has generously donated his auction item to Adrian and Alex Brown of Houston Texas.
“We consider Adrian and Alex a lucky charm,” McMillen said. McMillen has piloted the Amalie Oil / Wolverine Boots and Apparel dragster to runner-up finishes in both the events that the Brown’s have attended.
Adrian and Alex forwarded this letter to our team:
Terry and Rhonda,
Thank you both very much for providing another wonderful motorsports weekend for Alex and me on May 30 and 31 at the IHRA Amalie Oil Texas Nationals at Dallas Dragway.
We were thrilled with your team’s reaching the top fuel final round for two years in a row. We also personally appreciate your very generous assistance, guidance and suggestions in the area of sponsorship development.
While Alex is currently very active and doing well in club level road racing in our Stohr F1000 formula car within the SCCA, when he gets to the skill level for joining an entry level pro series, substantial third party support will be necessary. An example of his start at self promotion, here is a URL under development for just one of his multimedia online sites, http://alexbrownracing.shutterfly.com . MySpace, Facebook, Vimeo, Blogspot, Flickr and other services also have his posts.
Because of your support of the Per Scholas Comp2Kids program, the organization will probably meet its goal of providing 20,000 computers by the year 2012 to children and teachers in the New York City area, who otherwise would not have access to or be able to acquire them. Our benefactor who won your donated weekend at the May Auction4Kids event at the New York Stock Exchange was our family friend, Greg Tusar, a member of the Board of Per Scholas.
Best of luck for the remainder of the 2009 IHRA and NHRA season.
Adrian and Alex Brown
