EDMONTON, Alberta – He’s pulling double duty this season, racing in both his Amalie Oil InstiGator Funny Car and the Foley/Lewis backed Torco Nitro Top Fuel Dragster. In just his fifth Top Fuel event, Terry McMillen, an IHRA fan favorite, drove through a tough field including teammate and number one qualifier Doug Foley to earn his first Iron Man.
“It was just an unbelievable feeling to win,” McMillen told drag racing website CompetitionPlus.com. “I’ve always said Edmonton is one of my favorite tracks. To come out here and win it is an awesome deal. Perseverance by the Torco team was a major factor today. We went out there and got it done. I just can’t say enough about my team, Evan Knoll (mentor/sponsor), Tim Lewis, and Doug Foley (team co-owners).”
Edmonton still friendly for McMillen
ELKHART, Ind. – It’s a 38-hour jaunt from the Hoosier Thunder Motorsports race shop to the Castrol Raceway in Edmonton, Alberta. For McMillen and his Amalie Oil InstiGator Funny Car powered by Torco Race Fuels, everyone of the long miles to Edmonton are welcomed.
“Rob and Kim Reeves (Castrol Raceway track owners) do such a great job making this race one of the friendliest on the Knoll-Gas Nitro Jam Drag Racing circuit,” said McMillen. “Our team always looks forward to the CARS RV & Marine & Motorsports Rocky Mountain Nationals presented by Torco.”
Edmonton’s friendly spirit goes beyond the hospitality of the Reeve’s family for McMillen. During the past two seasons McMillen’s hotrod has made it to the semi-final and final round. “There’s certainly something special about Edmonton for us,” McMillen added. “Plus it has the best lighting of any track that we’ll race all season, guarantee,” McMillen joked regarding the long summer days of northwest Canada where the sun doesn’t set until past midnight. “These fans truly love drag racing. They’ll hang out all night with us.”

Terry McMillen and his Amalie Oil InstiGator Funny Car will be at the Milan Dragway Saturday June 30 for the Pinks: All Out event. There is no truth to the rumor that McMillen’s 3,500 horse powered Hemi will participate in the event.
“The Pinks: All Out series on SPEED has been great for the sport of drag racing,” McMillen said. We’re excited about being a small part of the show.”
The appearance will be to cross promote the Suzuki Motor City Nationals taking place August 24-26 at the Milan Dragway, the eighth stop on the Knoll-Gas Nitro Jam drag racing series.

TULSA, Okla. – Terry McMillen and his Amalie Oil InstiGator Funny car powered by Torco Race Fuels fought through rain delays and adversity to put the Hoosier Thunder Motorsports team back into the top 10.
“It’s been tough,” McMillen explained. “But we’ve made a lot of positive steps to get this car back into contention. After destroying and engine and blower in Rockingham the team spent the time off for the rain delay rebuilding engines and testing.
“We’ve learned a lot over the past few weeks,” said McMillen. “We’ve got a brand new PSI Supercharger mounted on our new Hemi. It’s just a matter of sneaking up on our tune-up now.”

Terry says thank you…
Amalie Oil InstiGator Funny Car and Torco Pro Nitro Top Fuel driver, Terry McMillen wanted to thank everyone for the prayers, messages and calls he has received regarding his most recent eye surgery.
This marks the third surgery Terry has undergone to correct damage to his eye caused by Bausch & Lomb’s ReNu with Moisture Loc product.
Rhonda says that Terry is resting and in a little pain.
According to eye witnesses (Rhonda), Terry appears to have gone through 10 rounds of heavy weight action with Mike Tyson. Thankfully he stopped most of the blows with his face.
All kidding aside, Terry’s eyes are a bit bruised and swollen. He is expected to recover in time for several testing sessions with the Amalie Oil Funny Car and a Torco Pro Nitro Top Fuel session with Foley later this month in preparation for the Skull Shine Sooner Nationals in Tulsa.
Terry wanted to make sure everyone knew that he appreciates the support – while his crew took the opportunity to give a light-hearted joke with this post.
Get well Terry.

InstiGator Ready to Make Strong Showing in Rockingham
ELKHART, Ind. (April 17, 2007) – The Amalie Oil InstiGator Funny Car, powered by Torco Race Fuels returned from the Amalie Oil Texas Nationals and made more changes to the car. “We did OK in San Antonio,” explained McMillen. “But you can never rest when it comes to racing. Tad [Heflick] and Andy [McMillen] have been working day and night since we got home to find the performance edge we need.”
At the same time, the InstiGator completed its winter-long face lift at GO Graphix, undergoing some more modifications once all the graphics were removed. The Amalie Oil InstiGator is arguably the most photographed car in all of drag racing. “We’re receiving more emails that ever before,” said McMillen. “GO Graphix did a great job. The look of that car helps promote everything we do. From every marketing partner on the car to our Gator Wear.”
